This is our flagship service as NSC addresses your NORM issue by performing innovative NORM decontamination services. Our NORM cleaning system is portable and we can work directly at your location.
We created a system to remove low-volume NORM waste from tanks & vessels; eliminating the need to contaminate an entire vac truck which reduces shipping costs when moving waste for final disposal.
Our waste management solutions bring current technology, use safety at the forefront, and have cost savings always in mind.
Innovation for Contamination™ is our philosophy.
When the project scope and budget dictates sometimes the best practical solution is to manage and transport your NORM waste to an approved waste receiving facility. There are only a few approved NORM disposal sites in North America and depending on the waste acceptance criteria a facility will be chosen on your behalf. NORM Survey of Canada will assure that your NORM waste disposal needs are met; on time and on budget.
NSC field technicians will arrive to your site to meet your specific needs. While at your location we can also provide a NORM tutorial to your supervisors and field operators. This is a part of our service to you. Surveys are performed on:
NORM Survey of Canada provides training services to field and office personnel specifically catering to your needs:
NSC coordinators & field technicians have worked at many facility shutdowns/turnarounds; improving safety and awareness about NORM-impacted equipment and vessels. The process is:
NSC takes care of all your NORM operations during shutdowns & turnarounds.
Many boilers that come out of service contain refractory brick having elevated levels of radionuclides (Ra226, Th232 and K40).
Often times these loads are rejected at waste receiving facilities as it triggers their portal radiation monitors; the result is elevated costs due to wasted time, handling & shipping.
NSC will work with you to ensure the waste is surveyed, analyzed and properly managed; to ensure a smooth transition from your site to the approved waste receiving facility.
NSC is pleased to announce we now offer IH services:
We can now provide one-stop service during plant shutdowns & turnarounds.

“NSC developed a NORM training program for Baker Hughes and we will continue to use NSC for our NORM training to ensure our employees have the knowledge and skills to work around NORM in a safe manner.” -Trent, HSE Officer
“I would like to express my gratitude for the forward thinking NSC has implemented to decontaminate our tubulars. The project went precisely on schedule, on budget and without incident. It’s good to know the recycling process kept the waste volume to a minimum. In the past we were faced with more costly and time consuming alternatives in order to address our NORM contamination issues. I welcome the onsite solution that NSC provides and look forward to addressing more NORM concerns using your technology and service.” -Ken, Field Supervisor
